Museum of Barta are foundation in 1985 by Jēkabs Rūsiņš (1917 – 1994) who was journalist, poet and lived in Barta. Aim museum of Barta is to research and show history of Bartas village and collective farm in Barta. For museum premises the living house “Cielavas” had been to change and to carry out repairs. In this house to arrange 2 rooms for exhibition and 1 room where exhibits had to save. When May 8 of 1985 museum had open the first time, visitors can look exhibition about collective farm in Barta, also the national costume of Barta and objects what people used in 19 century everyday. In September 12 of 1986 in accordance with district of Liepaja TDP executive committee the decision museum to name about “Barta village and collective farm “Barta” public museum” . To the director of museum stay journalist, poet and men who lived in Barta – Jēkabs Rūsiņš (1917 – 1994). In the end of 1980 – ties exhibition of LTK and collective farm history to replace with information about minister of agriculture Janis Birznieks (1895 – 1955) and add exhibition about Bartas ethnographical ensemble. In that way, museum of Barta had been made like one of many typical 1980-ties one village and collective farm local history museum. Until museum accreditation it is skilled for that time typical life.
